August 1Founding Day is the anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People'sLiberation Army, set on August 1 of each year, and was established bythe Chinese People's Revolutionary Military Committee to commemorate thefounding of the Chinese Red Army of Workers and Peasants.
On July 11, 1933, the Provisional Central Government of the ChineseSoviet Republic decided, based on the recommendation of the CentralRevolutionary Military Committee on June 30, that August 1 would be theanniversary of the founding of the Red Army of the Chinese workers andpeasants, and on June 15, 1949, the Military Committee of the ChinesePeople's Revolution issued an order that "August 1" should be used asthe date of the founding of the Red Army of the Chinese workers andpeasants. The main symbol of the military flag and emblem of the ChinesePeople's Liberation Army (PLA). After the founding of the People'sRepublic of China, this anniversary was renamed the Chinese People'sLiberation Army Army Foundation Day.
