Optimum design and additive manufacturing of complex core structures for high performance aircraft production

The project will develop a computing system and educational materials for the optimal design and additive manufacturing of 3D core structures (such as tooling) in the aerospace industry. 

The project aims to overcome the enormous challenges that exist in current manual design and manufacturing of core structures using conventional methods, including the performance of these structures. The project will develop advanced solutions using finite element methods, non-linear high-dimensional optimization, and design for additive manufacturing (DFAM). 

In dealing with WEO requirements, the project team will develop learning materials in the form of digital lectures, software, and tutorials, and carry out large-scale "big competition challenge" activities.
